Cloud Turkiye.gov.tr (Turkish Citizenship Database) Breached 2022

In 2022, reports surfaced that real-time access to sensitive Turkish government databases including citizenship records was being sold. The breach wasn't necessarily from Turkiye.gov.tr itself, but the data accessed was often routed through or mirrored from systems connected to it. The breach exposed over 100 million records. Was done by hackers that reportedly exploited malware hidden in pirated software on government-connected devices, gaining access to National ID numbers, Full names and addresses, Phone numbers, Health and property records and Citizenship status and application data.
